My name is Andrew and I write music. I searched through Prelinger for footage which was in sync with the music that I had written. These two commercials had elements that were perfect for what I was looking for so I joined them together to create a backing video. Everyone must remember the "time"
of this promo-sales film. The intended audience
were salesMEN, I doubt if many women were
going to see this presentation, as I doubt
that there were many women selling air conditioners back then,
THUS, you have to have a pretty girl in every sales film.

....As for Westinghouse "going out of business"!!!
Gee... I believe that I still have shares of stock
from that "out of business" business.

I just grabbed this off of two of their web sites:

"Westinghouse Electric Company provides fuel, services, technology, plant design, and equipment for the commercial nuclear electric power industry."

"Manufacturers of dishwashers, fridges, freezers, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, washers and dryers."

I guess that no one was around to take down their web sites from this "out of business" business.

Really love the (mis)information that is spread on the internet.

This Salesman's promo may have once been effective, but it is now dated. It almost seems childish with the woman swirling around. How come the film makers allowed her face to look so shinny? It made the model's image opposite of a "cool" air conditioner. There were enough repetitions to brainwash any appliances'
salesman. As good as the product was, the company would eventually go out of business.

This is not really a commercial, rather itÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs a 10 minute advertising promo film for Westinghouse air conditioner salespeople about the brand new models for 1965. Before, the narrator says, you just had a window, and that you werenÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt supposed to touch it! But now, all you ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂgatherers of goldÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ (that would be the Westinghouse salespeople), thereÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs a new line of air conditioners out! (this is when you would say ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂwoot!ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ And best of all, we have a ucoordinmating, aloof pretty girl here to twirl around for you !! (this is when you would double woot!)) so, yeah! Now you can touch it all you like! (The air conditioners, NOT the model. Sheesh,)

Other than this, is quite a swinging retro piece of stock! Solid Gold!

Ok first of all the title to this film is a little misleading, this film is more of a promotional film moreso than it is a commercial. Having said that it probobly could of been a commercial as thier isn't really that much material here. Baisicly this film shows three diferent types of windows while the narator advertises the diferent type of Air Conditioners you can fit on them by saying "Can we touch it" or "No don't touch it" (yeah I really didn't get that part) the only actual person we see in this film is a beutiful model dancing around the set. It's a pretty good film but it drags on too long.

Hot swinging chick dancing in front of and behind those cool window air conditioners for 1966 that are better than 1965! Yow! So stylish! Lots of "touch" and bragging about size of their BTU's and ... "May we touch it again?"
